How to Break the Chain

When someone dies, it sparks like a chain reaction into a family or a certain group of people. If you or a loved one, friend, are struggling with something, whether it's depression or anxiety, it's not an excuse to stop reaching out. The people closest to us are the people we can help most, and one person may help another, and another, and so on. Here are some things you can do to support your family and friends through depression.

  1. Never let them suffer alone, just a simple "I understand," could mean the world to them.

  2. Always be there for them, even if no one else is!

  3. Go to their games! Visit their events! Make them feel special!

  4. Try to get them connected with a therapist, or someone who can professionally help.

  5. Listen to them. It's the best thing to do when you don't know what to say.

  6. Accept their feelings, know how they are trying to express them.
